Bert Mizusawa Armed for a Winning Campaign
Virginia Beach, VA – Second District Republican Congressional Candidate, Bert Mizusawa, raised $203,560 for the period that ended December 31, 2009. This was Mizusawa’s first reporting period.
“I am extremely pleased with the generous contributions that hard-working Americans made to my campaign. I know that every dime I received was a dime that could have spent on their families during these tough economic times. I will honor their trust by running an honorable and winning campaign focused on listening to the people of the Second District and working tirelessly to be the best candidate to represent them. The voters of our great District deserve nothing less.”
Mizusawa’s success does not come as a surprise to those who know him well. A life-long friend and fellow high school and West Point classmate, Matthew Duffy, added “Bert is one of the sharpest people I know. When he makes a commitment, he delivers. When people get to know Bert, I am confident they will see his record of achievement is unmatched by any candidate in this race, and perhaps even the Nation.” Duffy’s point carries tremendous merit when you evaluate Mizusawa’s fundraising success last quarter. Mizusawa filed to run for the Second District seat midway through the fundraising period, and then posted competitive numbersduring the Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas holidays, traditionally the toughest time to raise money for campaigns.
Bert Mizusawa’s announcement comes on the cusp of the District Republican Committee’s decision to reevaluate the method by which it will select its candidate to defeat Glenn Nye. “I look forward to a spirited and open contest regardless of the nominating process. I have great faith that the people of the Second District will choose the strongest Republican candidate to win in November.” Mizusawa said.
Bert Mizusawa is an accomplished soldier, businessman, and attorney who has earned the rank of Brigadier General in the US Army Reserve. He continues to advise key government and business leaders on economics and national security. He is seeking the Republican Party’s nomination for Congress in Virginia’s Second Congressional District.
